FAQs
What grades or ages are you accepting?
This year we will be accepting ten to twelve students between 14 and 18. If you have a student outside of this range please still sign up. Spaces outside of this age range may become available.
Is this homeschool, Private School, or a Co-op?
No, this is individual instruction by a private tutor. It falls under its own category and requires instruction by someone with a current Virginia Teaching Licence. You can find mine here:https://p1pe.doe.virginia.gov/tinfo/getlicenseinfo.do?internal=943821
What is the application process?
If you feel like Dallmeyer Learning is a good fit for your family’s needs please take the first step and enter your email below. Once you enter your email, you will receive an email with a pre-application questionnaire and be invited to a live Q&A session. If you are ready to move forward I will meet with each family and we will make the final decisions! Admission is not determined by prior academic achievement or behavior. I will accept as many students as I feel that I can help.
How much does it cost?
Tuition is $500 a month or $6,000 a year.
There is a 40% discount for siblings, and a 10% discount for families who refer another student.
What subjects will this include?
This will be a full academic load, Math, English, History, Science, Spanish and Arts Electives.
I will be providing math instruction one on one and I will select appropriate curriculum for each student.
What will the schedule look like?
Students will have one meeting one on one with me each week. I will go over their assignments from the previous week, assign work for the upcoming week and do math instruction.
Two days a week will be virtual group classes. We will do in person activities monthly, like field trips or round table discussions. There is the possibility of more in person instruction which would likely take place in Bowling Green.
The rest of the week students will work independently, and I will be available to them as well to answer questions or provide instruction.
Total required online time will be around 4 hours a week.
Can I sign my student up for just one class?
For our first year I am only accepting full time students.
Are you accreted?
No, but I will be pursuing accreditation.
The state of Virginia allows parents to comply with compulsory attendance law by hiring a private tutor. You can read more here: https://heav.org/virginia-homeschool-laws/certified-tutor-option-tutors/certified-tutor-option/
Can my student ‘graduate’ from Dallmeyer Learning?
Yes, I can provide transcripts and a diploma to students who have satisfied graduation requirements. This will be discussed in much greater detail in the application interview.
Can my student return to a public or private school after a year with Dallmeyer Learning?
Yes, and I am happy to assist in the transition. I have knowledge of enrollment and graduation requirements with the public school system. I am happy to discuss specific concerns in the Live Q&A or through email.
How can I learn more?
Enter your email address below and I will send you a questionnaire and an invite to a live Q&A session where you can get to know me and I can answer questions from families.
How can I explain this to my family and friends?
Say you hired a private tutor for your kids! How very fancy.

Sabina Dallmeyer
Hey, I am the teacher behind Dallmeyer Learning and I have a Masters Degree in Teaching and I have spent the last 10 years teaching in public schools, tutoring homeschool students, and teaching parents about Math Anxiety.
I am also a homeschool mom of 4. I have been attending the HEAV convention for YEARS, and I am a curriculum junkie. I am currently using a literate based curriculum with my first grader.
